Article-4 Adoption Decision of Human Resource Information Systems: A Special Reference to Cement Industry of Bangladesh

In the recent era, the use of Information System is unavoidable, and Human Resource Information System (HRIS) is one of the leading approaches to Information System. In ensuring organizational efficiency and competitive advantage, the human resource information system could be the pioneer. Anchored on the TOE model, this study attempted to identify the factors influencing the adoption of HRIS and the impact of this adoption on ensuring organizational effectiveness. A structured questionnaire survey was conducted on 200 employees of the cement companies who were specially working in the head office by occupying judgmental sampling method. SPSS version 26 was used to analyze the data. The result suggests that other than environmental factor; technological and organizational factors contribute a lot towards the adoption of HRIS, and a positive correlation exists between adoption of HRIS and organizational effectiveness. The results of this study will be beneficial for policymakers and professionals for formulating strategic policies in terms of adopting information system towards the advancement of the Human Resource Department and also the output will enhance the contribution to literature for academics and also for further studies.
